Some wins!

Two days ago, Matthew took 1.5 oz from a bottle! We are mostly introducing him to concept that the sucking action can be applied to a non-mommy object and that milk/food can come from a non-mommy object.

For two days in a row, Matthew has remembered how to suck from a sippy cup! If we can skip bottles, we will. We are a step closer to being able to supplement with Neocate. With all the nursing, my supply has started to go back up when I should be getting the weaning started.

Today, Matthew started actually opening his mouth in anticipation of the spoon of food! I don't know if he associates the eating with getting sick but, he hasn't really done that too much. I've tried to make mealtime fun, with toys and singing songs and modeling eating behaviour for him. We never thought we'd have issues with food, so we were totally unprepared for this.

And, tomorrow is the last day of our beef trial! We've decided on a 4-3-4 protocol. So far, no vomiting and he's been really enjoying the beef. Yes, we have some mystery rashes and constipation, but today both those seem to have cleared up!

Here is our exposure tally so far. Beef is the first new food we have given since he got sick.
I am considering 8 exposures to be about 60% safe.
12 exposures is 75% safe.
21 exposures is 95% safe.
